Vigilius Mountain Resort
Lana - Merano, Italy
Architecture, interior design, styling, corporate identity
San Vigilio, 1500 metres above sea level: Vigilius Mountain Resort is a 5-star hotel (35 rooms, 6 suites, 2 restaurants, a library, lounge, conference room, spa set over 3 levels with a pool) which interacts in a special way with surrounding nature. This long construction which gently follows the contours of the mountainside can only be reached by cable car or on foot. Made of stone, wood, clay, glass and a fragment of woodlands incorporated in the architecture, it is a soft, elegant machine covering 14000 square metres. A luxurious object in symbiosis with the landscape, a record-breaking mix of healthiness and sustainability. A work of architecture which won the WWF's Golden Panda Award in 2005 and Legaambiente / Lombardy Region Award in 2006.
